Who started your Church?

Different founders of each church, yet only One here established the True Church (Source: http://thatssocatholic.blogspot.com/2009/09/really-who-founded-your-church.html)

1. If you are a Lutheran, your church is founded by Martin Luther in October 31, 1517 when he nailed his 95 theses on the door of Wittenburg University. He believes that the Scripture alone is the final authority and that the Pope, Vatican Councils cannot be such. He also teach that faith in Christ alone is needed and no good works are needed in order to attain salvation. But the Scripture says that only those who do the will of the Father will enter heaven and that we are also justified by works (cf. Matthew 7:21, James 2:24)

2. If you are a Calvinist, your church is started by John Calvin. He taught the TULIP, Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace and Perseverance of the Saints.

3. If you are an Anglican, your church started when King Henry VIII broke up from the Church due to the fact that the Pope will not grant divorce to him. The very reason why he was opposed by Sts. John Fisher and Thomas More.

4. If you are a Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), your church was founded by Joseph Smith when he claimed to have seen both Jesus and the Father and wrote on golden plates the "BOOK OF MORMON". He also taught that through polygamy, people may become gods themselves which the Bible itself refutes because God declared that there was no other god nor ever will be before Him (Isaiah 43:10). Also, he taught the Great Apostasy of the Church which the Bible itself refutes since Jesus promised Hell will not prevail against the Church (Matthew 16:18)

5. If you are a Seventh Day Adventist, your church was founded by William Miller and Ellen Gould White. Mrs. White in her books, "THE GREAT CONTROVERSY" and "THE DESIRE OF AGES", teaches that Christians are still bound by the Sabbath law and that Sunday is the day of the pagan god of the sun. But if we will test this in Scripture, Christians worshiped on the first day, not on a seventh day (Acts 20:7) since Sunday is the fulfillment of the Jewish Sabbath. Also, the SDAs taught that the Pope is the Antichrist bearing the title, "VICARIUS FILII DEI". But this title does not appear in the list of the Papal titles and neither was it written on the Pope's tiara. They misuse Revelation 13:18 to prove that the Pope is the fulfillment of this, but the verse says, "the number of a man" and not, "the number of the title of a man".

6. If you are a Jehovah's Witnesses, your church was founded by Charles Taze Russell. He believes that only the 144,000 will be saved and that Jehovah is the True Name of God. But in the Hebrew alphabet, the letter, "J" does not appear and in the tetragammaton, "YHWH". Also the Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus is the incarnation of the Archangel Michael. But the Bible says that the Son (Jesus) is greater than the angels (Hebrews 1:4). Also, they manipulated the Holy Scriptures in their "New World Translation" that the Word is "a god" and not God (John 1:1, NWT Bible). But we have to analyze that the Bible says that what the Father has, Jesus also has (John 17:10). So, He must have been God and not "a god" because the Bible says that there is no other god than the LORD (Isaiah 45:21).

7. If you belong to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ), your church was established by Felix Ysagun Manalo in July 27, 1914. He believes that the Church apostasized (similar to the Mormons) and that this Church was the Roman Catholic Church. INCs deny the Trinity as the Jehovah's Witnesses do since for them, the only true God is the Father alone and that the Holy Spirit is not God (John 17:3, 20:17, 1 Corinthians 8:6). Also, they deny Jesus is God but that He is a human being. They keep on using John 8:40 to prove this that He is a Man telling the truth from God. They also teach that Felix Manalo is the angel in Revelation 7:2-3 and that the Philippines is the Far East in Isaiah 43:5. They also teach "extra ecclesiam nulla salus" (Outside the Church, there is no salvation) which they copied from Roman Catholics.

8. If you belong to the Members of the Church of God International or commonly known as "Ang Dating Daan", your church started when Eliseo Soriano broke from Nicolas Perez's church since his successor was Teresita Gugulan, a woman. Soriano teaches that God is not omnipresent, that Jesus is not Man (though Scriptures say He is in John 8:40) and that He is Mighty God, but not like Almighty God (quite similar to the Jehovah's Witnesses) and that he denies the Trinity. He also taught that God has a "puwet" or an ass.

9. If you belong to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name above every Name, your church was founded by Apollo C. Quiboloy after claiming to have seen visions on 2 mountains, Kitbog and Tamayong. He rejects the Trinity and says that Jesus is the Begotten Son in the Jewish setting who became the Almighty Father in the Gentile setting. His members believe Quiboloy to be "The Appointed Son of God in the last days" and that April 13, 2005 marks the end of the Church Age and the beginning of the Kingdom age. But these claims are being refuted by Scripture. (see my article on "THE ERRONEOUS TEACHINGS OF APOLLO C. QUIBOLOY)

10. If you belong to Assemblies of God, Born Again movements, Presbyterian groups, Baptist churches. Your churches founded only recently and even split itself in terms of doctrine and morals!

11. But if you are a Catholic, be proud of your Faith because your Church started 33 A.D. in Jerusalem, Israel and founded by Jesus Christ Himself on the rock of Peter in Matthew 16:18. For over 2000 years since the glorious light of the Cross illuminated mankind, the Catholic Church stayed strong despite heresies, apostasies and schisms since Jesus Himself promised to be with this Church till the end of time!!

The erroneous teachings of Apollo C. Quiboloy

"Before Abraham was born, I AM" (John 8:58)

The Teachings of Apollo C. Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name

 1. Jesus is the Begotten Son in the Jewish setting and became the Almighty Father in the Gentile setting

Is this supported by Scripture? Jesus said, "The Father and I are One" in John 10:30, meaning, they are One in Divinity, not in Personhood. Quiboloy, for sure have read this verse, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus does not change being the Only Begotten Son of the Father or the "monogenes" in Greek even as the Father does not change being the Almighty Father. The Scriptures declare, "I am the LORD and I do not change. So you, descendants of Jacob are not yet lost" (Malachi 3:6). So, if the Father and the Son are One in Divinity and the Bible says the LORD does not change, we can conclude that the Father and the Son does not change their Personhood in the Trinity. The Father is still the Father according to Isaiah 64:8, "But You O LORD are our Father", and Jesus Christ is still the Son, but having the characteristics of the Almighty Father but never the Almighty Father Himself as Isaiah 9:6 says, "And He shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". To say that Jesus Christ is the Almighty Father in the Gentile setting is an insult to the Almighty Father who is the Father in the Old Testament and is still the Father in the New Testament in 1 Corinthians 8:6.

2. Jesus is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Oneness or JESUS ONLY teaching)

Quiboloy for sure denies the Trinity since he is a "JESUS ONLY" Pentecostal. Let us go over John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God". Here, the Bible speaks of two Persons, we have the Logos God who is Jesus Christ in v.14 of John's Prologue and the Father, the Only True God  and yet they are One God. Another verse is found in 1 John 5:7 (King James Version 1611), "For there are Three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost. And these Three are One" . Pastor ACQ (Apollo C. Quiboloy) uses the KJV so he should have read this verse. This verse refers to Three distinct Persons, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost, yet they are One in Divinity. The Father is not the Son nor the Son the  Father nor the Holy Ghost the Father and the Son. Also, it was the Son and not the Father who took flesh. In 1 Corinthians 8:6, we read, "For there is One God, the  Father...and One Lord, Jesus Christ". Who is this One God in this verse? The Father Almighty and the One Lord there is Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I testify on My behalf and the Father who sent Me also testifies on My behalf" (John 8:18). According to the Bible, when two witnesses agree, what they say is true. Jesus is referring to Himself and to the Father who testifies of Him (Jesus).

3. Pastor Quiboloy is the Appointed Son of God in the last days

I used to listen to PACQ's "Give us This Day" and he said he was put to the furnace of affliction on Mt. Tamayong. He quoted Hebrews 5:8 to proved he passed the test, not knowing he was quoting this verse out of context. If we will read it in its context, the Son "who learned obedience through what He suffered" refers to Jesus Christ and not to Quiboloy in the light of v.7 which says, "In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears to the One who is able to save Him from death". Jesus was the Son who learned obedience through what He suffered since He cried out loud to the Father who is able to save Him from death in the Garden of Gethsemane, when He prayed, "Abba! Father! All things are possible to You. Take this cup from Me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" (Mark 14:36). Jesus, and not Quiboloy was the One who passed the test because He was "tempted in every way, yet without sin" (Hebrews 4:15). I also heard him quote Psalm 2:7 pertaining to himself however, this is a Messianic prophecy, the Messiah here is called, "Son" by the Father Himself and also this Messiah-King was called "Lord" by the Father in Psalm 110:1. This was fulfilled in Christ Jesus, when He was baptized by John the Baptist, He was called the Beloved Son in whom the Father is pleased in Matthew 3:16-17. This was also fulfilled in Jesus when He was called, "Lord" by His followers. Peter called  Jesus, "Lord of all" in Acts 10:36 and James the Less calls Him, "Lord of glory" in James 2:1 which proved that it was to Christ, and not to Quiboloy was  this promise fulfilled. Because if that were so, then Quiboloy would be called, "Lord Quiboloy" which is an insult to the True Lord who is Jesus Christ. He said, "I will not give My praise to gods nor My glory to idols" (Isaiah 42:8).

Read His lips: "I will not give My glory to another" (Isaiah 42:8)

3. April 13, 2005 marks the end of the Church Age and the beginning of the Kingdom Age

Excuse me? If it were so, Jesus would have come already and vanquished the Antichrist taking the place of God in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8. The Great Tribulation hasn't come yet as predicted by the Lord Jesus and the Antichrist and the mark of the beast hasn't arrived yet. How come April 13, 2005 be the Day of the Lord? Jesus said, "But of the Day or the hour knoweth no man, neither the angels in heaven, but My Father only" (Matthew 24:36). Jesus gives the Father authority to give the final word on all history and the Father through Jesus Christ will judge the world (Romans 2:16). Jesus said before that Day comes, the Great Tribulation will come to the world, that has never been experience from the creation of the world to this very day in Matthew 24:21. We are still in the Church Age since the Great Tribulation and the Antichrist before the Second Coming hasn't arrived yet.

4. Davao City is the New Jerusalem

Excuse me? The Bible says the New Jerusalem will come down from heaven like a bride adorned and ready to meet her husband in Revelation 21:2. This is not Davao City because in this verse, the New Jerusalem has 12 gates with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel on it in the light of v.12. It also has foundation stones adorned with all kinds of precious stones in the light of v. 19 but the most exciting part of it is, no more unclean will enter heaven in v.27. The Father and the Lord Jesus will be there. No more day or night since the Father and the Lord Jesus are the Light in v.23. I don't know if the "Garden of Eden Restored on Tamayong, Mt. Apo, Davao City Philippines" has these qualifications.

5. We can have salvation through believing in Pastor Quiboloy as the Son of God

This is blasphemy! Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father but by Me" (John 14:6). Salvation is found only through Jesus Christ in Acts 4:12 because of His Theandric nature. Jesus alone will lead us to heaven, not Pastor Quiboloy. The Bible says, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man" (Psalm 118:9). Quiboloy doen't really know what "Son of God" means:

Biblically speaking, the "Son of God" is God in John 1:18, He is greater than the angels in Hebrews 1:4, He is also the Christ in Matthew 16:16, He is equal with God in Phlippians 2:6 and He is the Lord in Psalm 110:1

Therefore, who is this "Son of God"? Jesus Christ ALONE!

To those who are the members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name movement, I encourage you to read the Bible for youself and consider the teachings of Pastor Quiboloy. Please! Ask the aid of the Holy Spirit and do read your Bibles and compare its teachings to that of Quiboloy because the Bible says, "For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform miracles and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24). Testing doctrines is not bad because the Bible says, "Put all things to the test, hold on to that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

One of them is the True Son of God, the other is false

Jesus is God according to the Bible

"If you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins" (John 8:24)

In the Old Testament and in the New Testament, the Messiah is proven to be God and Jesus is this Messiah. But the question is, do we believe the right Jesus? Most of us believe an angelic Jesus (quite similar to that of the Jehovah's Witnesses) and a human Christ (similar to the Jews and the Iglesia Ni Cristo of Manalo). There are lots of verses that testify of His Divinity:

We know that Jesus wasn't originally a Man before He came to earth. We should know that His birth was of the Holy Spirit with the so-called Virgin Birth in Isaiah 7:14. Also, we should know that no MAN (emphasis mine) ever same from heaven save the Son of Man who came down from heaven (John 3:13). Let me tackle from some of the Old Testament prophecies concerning the arrival of the Messiah:

1. Genesis 3:15, "I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed. He shall bruise your head while you lie in wait for His heel"

Here in this book, the LORD promised Someone who will be from the Seed of the Woman who will bruise the Serpent's head. In Romans 16:20, we read, "And may God, the Source of Peace will soon crush Satan under your feet". Satan is the Serpent who will be crushed by this Messiah who will be the seed of the woman in Revelation 12:9. This is one of the Messianic prophecies that proved beyond doubt that the Lord Jesus is God because He will be the God of Peace who will crush Satan.

2. Psalm 2:7, "You are My Son, today, I have begotten You"

This is another Messianic prophecy. The Messiah will be called "The Son of God". The Father who is the ONE TRUE GOD in 2 Kings 19:19 acknowledged this Messiah as His Own Son. In the New Testament, Jesus is called 30 times as the Son of God. Biblically speaking, here's the difference between "Son of God" and "son of God":

"Son of God"= is God (John 1:18), is the Lord (Psalm 110:1), He is equal with God (John 5:18)

"son of God"= is by grace (John 1:12), by adoption (Ephesians 1:5)

Here, Jesus possesses the attributes of God. We have to understand this. All that Jesus has is the Father's and all the Father has is Jesus' (John 17:10)

3. Psalm 45:6-7, "Your throne O God is forever and ever! You rule over Your people with justice. You love what is good and hate what is evil. Therefore God, your God, has anointed You and has poured on You blessings than any of Your companions"

The Messiah, aside from being called, "SON OF GOD", will be called, "GOD". This is a verse borrowed by Hebrews 1:8 to prove that the Father declared Jesus as GOD as to how Jesus proclaimed the Father as the ONLY TRUE GOD in John 17:3. That is why He is worshiped (Matthew 14:33, 28:9-18) and forgave sins which only GOD can do (Mark 2:7-10).

4. Psalm 110:1,"The LORD said to my Lord, 'Sit at My right hand until I put Your enemies under Your feet'"

Here, how many Lords are here? LORD God and LORD Christ? One! The Messiah here in this verse is also called "LORD". Before Jesus came in the womb of Mary, He was called Lord by Elizabeth in Luke 1:43, and many times in the New Testament was Jesus called Lord by His disciples and all who believed in Him.

5. Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign: A Virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and His Name will be called, 'Emmanuel'"

We should know that the Name, "Emmanuel" was not just any name, this will be the attribute of the Messiah Himself. He will be omnipresent, just as God is in Jeremiah 23:23. This was fulfilled by Jesus and is still fulfilling it in Matthew 28:20,"I will be with you always, even to the end of the age". So this Messiah is Divine and not just any human being.

6.Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and a government will be upon His shoulder. And His Name will be called, 'Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace'"

The Messiah will be called the Mighty God and the Eternal Father. When we say Eternal Father, we didn't mean the Messiah is the Father Himself because the Father does not change in Malachi 3:6, what we mean is that the Messiah will possess the attributes that the Father has. That is why in John 13:33, Jesus called His followers, "My children" as proof that He is fulfilling this verse. Also, He didn't correct Thomas when he called Him Lord and God in John 20:28 as proof that He is fulfilling the role of being Mighty God or (El-Gibbon in Hebrew). Jesus was called "Teacher" many times by the Pharisees, His Apostles and by people who liked to ask Him questions in the Synoptic Gospels as proof that He is fulfilling the role of being Wonderful Counselor or (Pele-Yowes in Hebrew).

7. Jeremiah 23:5-6, “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Here, Jeremiah is prophesying that the time is coming that the Righteous Branch will execute justice throughout the land of Israel and Judah. Aside from that, He will be called, "Yahweh-Tsidkenu" in Hebrew which means,"The LORD our Righteousness" which was fulfilled in Christ. Jesus becomes our Righteousness by His death on the Cross as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:21, "For God made Him who had no sin to be sin so that through Him, we might become the righteousness of God". Through Christ and His blood, we were made cleansed from the bondage of sin.

8. Daniel 7:13-14, “I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed."

Here, the Messiah will be called, "The Son of Man". The Son of Man here means given all authority, honor and dominion from the Father. When Jesus was called the Son of Man, He is claiming to be given all authority from the Father in Matthew 28:18. Also, in the Synoptic Gospels, Jesus doesn't speak in 1st person when He speaks of His death, but rather, "The Son of Man..." (Luke 9:44). Only when this was fulfilled did the Apostles understood that Jesus was pertaining to Himself when He said,"SON OF MAN". In John's Gospel, when the blind man who was cured asked who the Son of Man is, Jesus said, "You are seeing Him. He is the One talking with you" (John 9:36-37). We should know this truth.

9. Micah 5:2, "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting."

Here, based on this passage, the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem and aside from that, His origins are from everlasting like God Himself in Psalm 90:2. This verse was fulfilled in John 1:1,"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God". Also in John 8:58, "Before Abraham was born, I AM". "I AM" refers not only to Jesus' state when He was not yet on earth, it also refers to the Name of God in Exodus 3:14-15 (ehyeh asher ehyeh) or I AM WHO I AM. That is why the Jews wanted to kill Jesus for this because He is claiming not only to be fulfillment of Micah 5:2, but also GOD Himself manifested in the flesh (John 8:59,10:33).

10. Zechariah 11:12, "I said to them. 'If you think it best, give me my pay, if not, keep them'. So they gave me thirty pieces of silver"

Here in this passage, Zechariah was playing the role of the LORD Himself. The LORD God here is exchanged by the people of Israel for 30 pieces of silver. In the New Testament, this was fulfilled when Judas betrayed the Lord to the Pharisees for that same amount in the Old Testament (Matthew 26:14-16)

11. Zechariah 12:10, "They will look at Me whom they pierced"

Here in this verse, you will see that it was God who was pierced. This is another Messianic prophecy that proves the Messiah, aside from dying a horrifying death in Psalm 22:16-17, will be pierced which was fulfilled in John 19:34, when a soldier pierced Jesus' side and blood and water poured out. I want to shed light here folks, who are reading this debate and Lory Manalo,I hope you get a picture of what I am trying to imply here. The Messiah who fulfilled all of these is none other than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The Old Testament does not contradict the New Testament, but points out to it.

St. Athanasius, the defender of the Divinity of Jesus Christ, pray for us!!!

"The Jews answered Him, 'For a good work, we stone Thee not, but for blasphemy and because Thou, being a Man, makest Thyself God!'" (John 10:33).

"For this reason, the Jews sought to kill Him, not only because He broke the Sabbath, but said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God" (John 5:18)

"Father, the hour has come! Glorify Your Son so that the Son may glorify You!" (John 17:1)
"And now Father, glorify Me in your presence now! The glory I had with you before the world began" (John 17:5)

Educating Peggy Younes on Mariology

                                                          Sancta Maria, Ora Pro Nobis

I saw from Peggy Younes' Facebook wall that she posted something against Catholicism which she plagiarized from this website: Bible.org. Note that my comments will be in black while Peggy's source will be in red. Actually, Peggy is not alone in giving ill-notions against the Church, especially if the topic is about Mary as the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen stated, "There are not a thousand people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church, there are millions however who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church"
I pray that Peggy's heart is moved by the Holy Spirit in order for her to turn back to the Church in which she is apostasized. Also, we need to bear in mind that loving Mary does not mean lowering Christ as Atty. Marwil Llasos, a Catholic lay apologist stated.

Jesus Himself honored Mary. We honor her in imitation of Christ as Dr. Scott Hahn said

While all Catholics do not necessarily worship Mary, the fact that many pray to Mary (which is an act of worship and no where justified in Scripture) and give her titles which resemble those given to Jesus Christ including the idea of mediatorship, this question and others related to Mary have been included under this heading.

Peggy, praying doesn't necessarily mean worship. Have you read in the Scriptures that there were persons who were prayed to, but they are not God? Take for example these Biblical situations:

Exodus 8:8-9, Pharaoh asked Moses to pray for him. Moses is not God. He could have said, "No! Go to the LORD God of Israel". But he didn't. He accepted his prayer request

Job 42:8-9, Eliphaz and his two friends asked Job to pray for them so they will be forgiven. Did Job said, "No! Go to God"? NO! He accepted their plea to pray for them

1 Timothy 2:1, Paul says we need to pray for all people. Does this mean it is already worship and therefore, we are also God? This is a very illogical reasoning.

These are only some Biblical verses wherein it says prayer is not always worship. In Catholic teaching, there are 3 kinds of honor:

1. Latria (for the Triune God)
2. Hyperdulia (for the Blessed Virgin Mary)
3. Dulia (for the saints)

Besides, why go to your pastor to pray for you? Is your pastor God? Why ask others to pray for you?

As for Mediatorship, we don't deny that Jesus is the ONE MEDIATOR between God the Father and man (1 Timothy 2:5). But we as His Church, are ONE with Him and Jesus Himself promised that if we believe in Him, we will do what He did, even greater things like praying for our brothers and sisters (John 14:12). Catholic teaching on prayer does make sense. Also, in Mariology, we do not equate Mary to Christ, it shows the relationship that Mary has with her Son, Jesus Christ.

Though Mary was the mother of the humanity of Jesus, a miracle accomplished by the Holy Spirit, she was not the mother of God. As God, Christ is eternal and had no mother or beginning (see John 1:1f). In essence, worshipping Mary is a form of idolatry. In the New Testament, Mary is never mentioned in a way that exalts her as is done in Catholicism.

Peggy Younes, you have to read Luke 1:43 carefully and slowly. Elizabeth called Mary, the Mother of MY LORD (ADONAI in Hebrew) which is attributed to God alone. This means Mary carries in her womb the Word made flesh (John 1:14). I know Christ is eternal, Amen to that. But when He took flesh, He chose to be born of Mary through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18). Don't separate the human nature of Jesus from the Divine nature of Jesus. The Theotokos is the application of the HYPOSTATIC UNION. Also, remember that mothers give birth to persons and not just natures. And about this statement that

"Mary is never mentioned in a way that exalts her as is done in Catholicism"

I think you go beyond what is written. The angel herself honored her. Look at what he said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you" (Luke 1:28). And what Elizabeth said, "You are the most blessed of women and blessed is the fruit of your womb" (Luke 1:42). Mary said that all generations will call her blessed (Luke 1:48). The Bible doesn't point Mary as merely a Jewish girl who gave birth to the Christ and end of story. No, she was a special woman favored by God to give birth to the Christ (Luke 1:30). Now, I know you still have problems regarding Mary, but its OK, I understand you. I just pray that this statement of mine will help you go home to the Church Christ established in Matthew 16:18.

"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you" (Luke 1:28)

(1) The Bible says nothing about Mary ascending into heaven in some special way. She went to heaven as all do through faith in Christ as God’s Son who died for our sin, including hers.

I do not know if you understand what you are falsifying against the Catholic Church. We do not teach that Mary "ascended" into heaven as Jesus was in John 3:13, but rather, "assumed" as Enoch was in Genesis 5:24 and Elijah in 2 Kings 2:11-12. A little common sense will help you with that. BTW, Peggy, thank you for your sympathy on the Virgin Mary. I am starting to like you.

This is only simple elementary my dear, why do you find it hard?

(2) The conception of Jesus, was by the Holy Spirit as explained in Matthew 1:20 and Luke 1:35. Other than stating this was a miracle work of the Holy Spirit, we are given no details.

Yes, indeed, that is the Virgin birth that Isaiah is stating hundreds of years before Christ in Isaiah 7:14. Jesus' birth through Mary was of the Holy Spirit in Matthew 1:20. However, you didn't stated out that Mary played a role in the Incarnation when she said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38).

3) In Luke 1:28, Mary is called “favored one” (literally, “endowed or filled with grace”) but only in the sense that God, by grace, chose her to be the human mother who would give birth to the Christ child. This same idea and word is used of all believers in Ephesians 1:6. We have all been endowed with grace. To say any more than this is to add to what the text of Scripture says.

I think we need to get a little Greek on this. The word "kecharitomene", means "full of grace" in Luke 1:28 and it was used on Mary alone. While "echaritosen" in Ephesians 1:6 also mean, "transformed by grace". However, Mary was filled with grace prior to the Passion of Jesus, while Christians were filled with grace after the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus. God bless on studying my statement and that of Atty. Mars. I pray this will open your eyes!

Hell is real

Many people are saying that Hell is not real and that it is just based on myth, a Greek fairy tale. I can only tell you this my friends, Hell is a very real place. It is not just a mere state of separation from God. Scripture scholar and scientist, Henry Morris writes this:

"So far as we can tell from Scripture, the present hell, is somewhere in the heart of the earth itself. It is also called 'the pit' (Isa. 14:9, 15: Ezek. 32:18-21) and 'the abyss' (Rev. 9:2). . .The writers certainly themselves believed hell to be real and geographically 'beneath' the earth's surface. . .To say this is not scientific is to assume science knows much more about the earth's interior than is actually the case. The great 'pit' [hell] would only need to be about 100 miles or less in diameter to contain, with much room to spare, all the forty billion or so people who have ever lived, assuming their 'spiritual' bodies are the same size as their physical bodies."(Henry M. Morris, The Bible Has the Answer, p. 220)

In the book of Numbers, the 3 people who rebelled against Moses, that is, Dathan, Korah and Abiram were swallowed by the earth (Numbers 16:1-34). Based on the conclusion of Mr. Henry Morris, we can conclude that the place at the deepest part of the earth is Hell. Jesus spoke about Hell than He did about Heaven. He said in this passage, "If you say to your brother, 'YOU FOOL!', you are in danger of going to Hell" (Matthew 5:22). He said that in Hell, "There, the WORMS NEVER DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED" (Mark 9:46)

The rich man and Lazarus

Actually, Jesus was not the only Person who spoke about Hell, John the Baptist spoke about Hell when he said this to the Pharisees, "Any tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire" (Matthew 3:10). John the Baptist gave us a complete picture of how Hell will be and also our Lord Jesus Christ in this story of the rich man and Lazarus:

22 . . . the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (Luke 16:22-28)

You see? Jesus illustrates to us the torments of Hell when the rich man cried out to Abraham that he was in torment in Hellfire. Also, in Judgment Day, Jesus said these sharp words to those at His left:

"Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:41)

Jesus said that the road to heaven is very hard and only few will make it (Matthew 7:13-14), though He wished all men to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4), He cannot force the will of persons who chose to go to Hell, rather than Heaven. In our modern world today, we see millions living and dying, and also many souls going to Hell rather than Heaven. In fact, St. Faustina and the Blessed Virgin Mary gave us the same picture of what Hell really is and how God does not want us to go there!

Our Lady showing a vision of Hell in 1917 at Fatima, Portugal

"She opened Her hands once more, as She had done the two previous months. The rays [of light] appeared to penetrate the earth, and we saw, as it were, a vast sea of fire. Plunged in this fire, we saw the demons and the souls [of the damned]. The latter were like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, having human forms. They were floating about in that conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames which issued from within themselves, together with great clouds of smoke. Now they fell back on every side like sparks in huge fires, without weight or equilibrium, amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fright (it must have been this sight which caused me to cry out, as people say they heard me). The demons were distinguished [from the souls of the damned] by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals. That vision only lasted for a moment, thanks to our good Heavenly Mother, Who at the first apparition had promised to take us to Heaven. Without that, I think that we would have died of terror and fear." (Saint Lucia's vision of Hell at Fatima, Portugal in 1917)

"I, Sister Faustina Kowalska, by the order of God, have visited the Abysses of Hell so that I might tell souls about it and testify to its existence...the devils were full of hatred for me, but they had to obey me at the command of God, What I have written is but a pale shadow of the things I saw. But I noticed one thing: That most of the souls there are those who disbelieved that there is a hell." (Diary 741)

"Today, I was led by an angel to the Chasms of Hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures I saw:
The First Torture that constitutes hell is:The loss of God.
The Second is: Perpetual remorse of conscience.
The Third is That one's condition will never change.
The Fourth is: The fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it. A terrible suffering since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God's anger.
The Fifth Torture is: Continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell, and despite the darkness, the devils and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and their own.
The Sixth Torture is: The constant company of Satan.
The Seventh Torture is: Horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies.
These are the Tortures suffered by all the damned together, but that is not the end of the sufferings.

Indescribable SufferingsThere are special Tortures destined for particular souls. These are the torments of the senses. Each soul undergoes terrible and indescribable sufferings related to the manner in which it has sinned.

St. Faustina's vision and that of Fatima is similar to what our Lord is trying to point out in Luke 16:22-28. In the Old Testament, Hell is called, "Gehenna" and "Sheol". In the New Testament, Hell is called, "Hades" where the rich man is in Jesus' parable. Even the book of Revelation took Hell seriously, the seer of Patmos who is John describes Hell like this:

Revelation 20:14-15, "And death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire which is the second death. Anyone whose name is not written in the Lamb's book of life is cast into the lake of fire"

Revelation 21:8, "But the cowards, the traitors, perverts, murderers, immorals, those who practice magic, the idol worshipers and ALL LIARS, their place is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur which is the second death"

Remember, 2000 years ago, God's love was made manifest that He sent His only dear Son to bear the penalty for the sins of the world. He died so that your sins may be forgiven and thus escape Hellfire. This is God's invitation for us in these last days:

John 3:16-18, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him may not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not sent His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.Whoever believes in the Son is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he does not believe in the Name of the only Son of God"

Jesus took your place and nailed your sins to the Cross so that you will escape Hell and live with God forever! If you do not accept Jesus' free gift of eternal life and start living according to His terms, you will suffer Hellfire! Remember, Jesus said, "Whoever does not abide in Me is thrown like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, where they are burned" (John 15:6).

This is how much Jesus loves you dear friend (1 John 4:9)

If this doc made you scared, remove that fear ASAP through Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Remember, Jesus won 2000 years ago through the Cross and the Resurrection! Don't be caught dead without Him because Scripture says:

Hebrews 9:27, "It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this, the judgment"

If you read this and died suddenly without Jesus and without repentance, before you know it, you are there in Hell and Jesus is right all along! But it will be too late! So, "If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts" (Psalm 95:8). Listen to God's Word and do not rebel. "This is the hour of God's favor! Today is the day to be saved!" (2 Corinthians 6:2)

You have been warned! "How shall we be saved if we neglect this salvation so great?" (Hebrews 2:3)
